DRAFT PROJECT: Forward Operating Base Prima

This setting is temporary. It is designed to provide an alternate playing location and to explore more of the setting at large. It's meant to be more dynamic and gritty than "Tavern RP" and provide players with an option. Characters may be made for this particular setting, or moved here from elsewhere on a temporary basis. If you choose to play a faction character please read below about some of the requirements, information and limitations to each.

FOB Prima

Located two miles south of the Grand Canal and centrally along the land taken from Tribes by the combined forces of Minkbrantha, The Bloody Fifth and Transdariana, is Forward Operating Base Prima. It has been more than a year since the base was established, so while it is far short of a grand fortress, it is a substantial settlement. FOB Prima is comprised of four main parts. At it's center is a long ago abandoned and partially reconstructed stone keep. This serves as the headquarters for occupying military elements, which handle the functions a government would in an ordinary settlement. Moving out from the keep is the earliest constructions at the FOB; barracks, stables, smithies, canteens, dining halls and depots. Protecting the installations made by the military elements is a 15 foot wooden wall, which is routinely manned, and which closes it's gates at night. Further out from the wall, and all around it are the settlements that come with these sorts of places. Temporary and permanent shelters, business and services provided by enterprising civilians wrap around the FOB, providing essential services, entertainment, and resources.

Conditions

While the soldiers and their support network at FOB Prima enjoy relative comfort, from a soldier's perspective, they provide only basic services to the civilians that have taken up residence around their walls. Fresh water is available via wells, and the soldiers do make efforts to provide policing, but food, shelter and other resources must be brought along, arranged for or purchased.

It is the rainy season, you can't hope for rain without dealing with the mud. Everything is muddy, most of the time. It's gloomy, and gray. Temperatures are warm during the day, but chilly at night, and being wet doesn't help.

Getting There

Via Ship - Supply barges routinely make the voyage up and down the canal. Some will stop the docks a few miles north of FOB Prima. Via Land - Travel through Zul Kiras, around it, or south from the Tyhinese lands. Via Air - Fly straight there. But fly high, the Orcs will shoot at aerial units.

If you want to play a member of one of the military units in the FOB you can, simply read up on the unit. Fifth members require Jammy's (```) approval. You'll get approved, he simply wants to verify you understand the backstory and requirements, since they are very specific. This includes both regulars, and knights.
