Biography

Dee can’t remember where they came from. No, not because of amnesia. A sinister follower of an unnamed ancient evil swapped her soul with that of a half-demon; with that came a curse that replaced references to their old identity with that of the new. They didn’t bother to elaborate on ‘why,’ but Dee figured the half-demon must not be doing as they were told so they chose someone else to carry out their task. Someone eager to be returned to their own body if they did as they were told.

Confused, panicked even the red-skinned half-demon flew to Drache as they were commanded. She begged and pleaded with the adventurers there for assistance. Many believed it some sort of con or a game for Dee’s amusement, while others simply sneered or ignored Dee’s very existence. She walked for what seemed like the entire city -- except when she was barred at the gates to the Western Drache and Diplomatic Quarters for being a half-demon.

At long last, heart shredded and her inhuman eyes growing dim, a troupe of adventurers extended their hand out to her. Dee couldn’t believe she’d finally found someone, and thanked them excitedly for their help.

They trekked across the land to a reclusive underground dwelling, navigated the deep, dark regions, and found the chamber where Dee’s Elven body was being held. The Fiend that held her laughed at her success in finding foolish souls baited by a weeping woman’s tears -- even those of a demon. Then revealed the mangled yet still living remains of Dee’s former self for her ‘reward.’

As the monster went on about Dee having taken so long it needed to entertain themselves, Dee slowly drew nearer to it. No thoughts or sensation crossed her mind; she acted on raw instinct -- the need to touch and know it was all real. She desperately wanted her old body back, but couldn’t imagine-- couldn’t believe--

The entire battle had happened without Dee witnessing a single second of it. She pleaded for the adventurers to heal the massive trauma, restore her body, get her back into it… Dee begged for forgiveness for luring them there and swore she would do anything if they could undo the dark magic used on the two women. Only, the half-demon in her body had other plans; they asked to be set free of their torment -- of her torment.

Dee was wide-eyed at the fiend in her body asking to end it. To be set free of her curse. What curse didn’t matter. She desperately sought to convince her companions otherwise and to restore them to their rightful bodies. But it was not to be… They explained they lacked the healing power to undo such damage or the knowledge in how to reverse what had been done to them. Worse, the journey would be too long to carry the dying She Elf on display back to civilization.

In the end, Dee watched her life literally pass before her eyes. A few objects of value were scavenged from the dark dwelling that paid for the adventurer’s aid; they even offered Dee a small share for herself to build a new life. It was.... generous, but the hardships of being a half-demon were not to be understated. Even back in Drache the desire to do good did not always overcome the desire to avoid her demonic, if alluring face.

Personality

Dee desperately wants to be accepted, but racial biases and distrust make that difficult wherever she goes. If given a chance she would be warm, outgoing, full of life, and not afraid to take risks. The bitter loss of a former life where such discrimination didn’t happen, and being denied even a simple ‘normal’ life have begun to weigh on Dee. To the point she’d begun contemplating how to survive in the world. Few options even seem possible, and almost all of them were things Dee would never have contemplated Before. Only time will tell whether circumstances conspire to turn her into a prodigal child of the Infernal realm, or find some meaning and purpose as a citizen of the realm.

Physical Description

The half-demon lineage is difficult to hide; Dee’s skin is a dark red with two horns that sweep back over her head with pointed ears perched beneath them. Fiery yellow eyes pierce the veil of darkness with ease, and can provide quite the fright when the lights are out. The prehensile tail with an arrow-tip is another overtly give away of her heritage. About the only thing Dee can say is at least she didn’t have giant bat wings, cloven hooves for feet, or a forked tongue. Sharper than average incisors don’t help, but at least they don’t stand out like a famished Vampire’s would.

Heritage aside, Dee’s body has a strong muscular physique with no excess body fat, which gives her a surprisingly healthy appetite.

Abilities & Skills

Physical Abilities

Mundane Skills

  • Botany and Cultivation: Dee was a young apprentice to an experienced botanist and was being taught how to grow, tend, and harvest even delicate plant life. Exploration of the wild for samples was what put her in a position for having her body stolen.
  • Herbal Medicine and First Aid: Using harvested plants can provide a number of treatments for countless ailments in the world. Dee was taught how to treat wounds and administer herbal concoctions.
  • Athletics and Stealth: While Dee isn’t conscious of them, muscle memory can at times cause her to enact a desire to mount an obstacle or hide from sight before she knew what was happening. With practice or training the full extent of these skills might be uncovered.

Magic Skills

  • Conjuring: Dee is not aware of this skill yet, but the former owner of the body knew how to conjure a spirit or monster to their aid. Perhaps someone trained in Magic might uncover this hidden talent and help her foster it -- or seek to guide Dee down a different path.
