A bug often sought by boy to scare their sisters this bug is a glistening sheen of emerald green and black. About the size of a bumble bee and even more harmless this insect lays its eggs underground where it takes 2 or 3 years to pupate to an adult. Rodents and birds often search for the young as a tasty snack. Their main diet is plants and rotten vegetation.
