Nowadays, Emir can often be found (when he's not on the seas) in Magistrate Senkessa Silak's home, lounging about and working on a variety of mundane skills he's neglected during his life on the waters of Siveth. He doesn't have any notable businesses or connections in Drache besides the aforementioned, but he is not afraid of doling out "street justice" as he sees it fit. Such acts have landed him before courts in the past.

Emir's ancestry is curious, to say the least. Though both of his parents are Korthai, his mother had a surprisingly small amount of Najjiran blood in her that manifested itself greatly in Emir's appearance. Thankfully, the Korthai haven't a single problem with mixed ancestry, but the young Deyash spent the whole of his formative years ensuring nobody thought he didn't rightfully belong on the Lantya. He began sailing when he could walk, participating in the simplest chores around a vessel. He put in his dues. As all Lantya members are required to be captains, and he was destined to be a member, his father set him upon a ship as a captain-in-training as early as ten years old.

His childhood was generally very quiet, though his mother died when he was too young to even remember her face. His father, being a captain as well as a council member, was largely too busy to raise Emir on his own, though he assuredly tried. The entire ship had a hand in raising the young Deyash, and he grew understanding his place was at the deck of a ship. He never questioned such a designation, feeling perfectly at home on the oceans of Siveth, and he fluorished.
Around the age of fourteen, Emir was formally betrothed to his current wife, Luin. Luin had been a childhood friend of his, and the daughter of another Lantya member. Emir and Luin were always very close, but they were not to a certain understanding when it came truly to marriage. They instead opted to rely on Sea Husbands/Wives for their more practical pleasures, and simply find each others company as best friends would. When they married, at the traditional age of eighteen, that was understood. They've never had a spat.

Recent Arrival

Emir Deyash arrived only a few months before the Arangothian Civil War occurred, being interested in the stirrings of war and the services he could provide. As a high-ranking member of the Korthai's governing body, the Lantya, Emir was integral in arranging naval defense for Drache in an era where Drache had no independent navy. Emir was equally integral in the selling of arms to the Drachean peoples, though he personally did not make any known profits off of the deal. Korthai have quite a sweet spot for freedom fighting and rebels.

Nowadays, Emir can often be found (when he's not on the seas captaining his ship, the Nesho Berash, or Sea Cow) in Magistrate Senkessa Silak's home, lounging about and working on a variety of mundane skills he's neglected during his life on the waters of Siveth. He doesn't have any notable businesses or connections in Drache besides the aforementioned, but he is not afraid of doling out "street justice" as he sees it fit. Such acts have landed him before courts in the past.

Early Years

Middle Years

By the time Emir was twenty, he was the helmsman of his father's vessel, and that sort of responsibility was cherished. He quickly began to take on his father's responsibilities. His father's health began to worsen. When his father passed, Emir was twenty-two, and he took both the Sea Cow and his father's Lantya position as his own. The next eleven years were spent alternating between spending time with his wife Luin and prowling the seas. He became infamous around the circles of the Korthai, though to outsiders he was a nobody. His reputation of leaving no quarter on captured vessels, and leaving the empty vessels to float cargo-less for as long as it took for them to be discovered, both led to him becoming the mastermind behind numerous mysterious raids that have yet to be solved.

As Emir came upon the brewing situation in Drache, he saw an opportunity to truly test his mettle, and served as de facto naval defense for the city until the province of Transdariania created its own standing navy. Soon after being released, he became involved with Magistrate Senkessa Silak, her eyes catching his attention even as she served him a sentence for serving "street justice" to a Mexrukian.
