Biography
Mekelus ul-Bolkth Sairod grew up in a family dedicated to civic service. His father and his father before him served in the standing army, going back generations. After the Civil War, Mekelus chose a different route, entering the service as a city guard.
He chose this route because of the access it would give him to the grittier and seedier elements of his home city. Taking a little here, a bribe there, and knowing he has the power to ruin a person's livelihood suits his whims better than the orders of the army.
Personality
While seemingly by the books, Mekelus has a hard and mean streak, with a particular disdain for magic users. He never goes beyond the limits of his powers as a guard, however. At least not when people are watching or when blame can be traced back to him. In the eyes of his superiors, he seems a capable, efficient, and productive member of the guard.
Physical Description
Standing 6 foot even, Mekelus has a brawny build with wide shoulders and large hands. He keeps his brown hair cropped short, never allowing it to reach collar length. His most defining feature is his stormy-grey eyes. Piercing, some might say.
