Luliana Riverwind
Biography
Born from the consensual yet brief union between a Wild Elf father and a Griffon mother, Luli was raised by her father in a quiet, small tree-top elven community. She spent some time in the Aerie during the summers with her mother, learning the ways of the people. Since she always felt like she didn’t belong, she ended up spending a lot of time with the simpler griffons, learning how they communicate with each other and in time, how she can understand their body language in a way that would allow her to communicate in very minimal ways with them as well.
She’s well versed in the use of a bow and arrow, often able to compete with full-blooded Wild Elves.
When it was time for Luli to “spread her wings”, she found a market for low-griffons in countries in good standing with the Aerie. That’s what brings her to Arangoth. She keeps a small amount of breeding stock of griffons and spends the vast majority of her time training and caring for the ones that would eventually be sold to both the wealthy and the army. Some griffons are sold with contracts to come back to her farm for breeding when they come into season.
Though a strong, well trained Griffon with unique plumage can often seek a very high price, Luli lives as minimally as she can as she does maintain a few people in her employ with a keen eye for sales and who are much better at negotiations and bargaining than she is, as well as security around the farm.
She maintains a positive relationship with her father and though times can be tense with her mother, she still spends time with her when she goes back to the aerie for more negotiations and sales.
She is wedded to a Mazewood elf, though she doesn’t speak often of her husband or their union.
Personality
Luli is much more comfortable in the presence of Griffons than peoplekind, though she pushes her limits in order to benefit her business. That being said, she is friendly and will partake in the occasional casual conversation, especially when dealing with merchants and the like, and she enjoys alcohol and it isn’t unusual to see her frequent taverns for a pint. She has made several customers in this casual environment as her half-Griffon form often garners a lot of attention.
She is slow to temper and unlike many high-griffons, it is not easy to ruffle her feathers. She’s accustomed to rude and flippant comments and they tend to roll off of her feathers like a well oiled duck, but she does have her limitations. When pushed too far, she is fierce, and has a great sense of justice (though much more muted than full-blooded Griffonkind) when it comes to her friends or less-fortunate being accosted. She is skilled at hand-to-hand combat and isn't afraid to put someone in their place.
Physical Description
Luliana has taken on a lot of traits of her Griffon mother. Her only form is that of a half Griffon, complete with a pair of wings, a lion-like tail and bipedal legs coated in thick, soft sandy-brown fur leading down to lion-like feet. The more astute might notice that her hands, while delicate like an elf, are tipped in short, sharp avian talons. Otherwise, she looks like a typical wild-elf - her arms are covered in tattoos, her ears are long and pointed and pierced, and her features are angular without being unpleasantly sharp. Her hair is a wild mess of auburn red, braided in parts and dreadlocked in others almost in a seemingly purposeful way. Along her hairline, one may notice a few pin-feathers that look like small porcupine quills threaded into her hair. In reality, the pin feathers grow right out her skin, not unlike hair.
Her attire varies depending on the weather, but in the colder months, she wears fur-lined trousers and fur-lined jackets. In the summer, she may strip down to just a loin-cloth and cropped top. All of her clothing is specially tailored due to her wings and legs.
