Character Background

Lachlan Brewer was born of a female human and a male High Elf. When wed, her father took his wife Anna's name to be closer to her. Lachlan's mother was from a family who brewed ales and such, and when she married Lachlan's father, he assumed the business when her parents died.

Having hoped for a boy, Lachlan's father gave her a boy's name, but this never bothered Lachlan. When she came of age, Lachlan's father found that his daughter had inherited elven magic; there had never been magic on Anna's side. With a successful brewery, Lachlan was able to go to a school of magic to better perfect the art.

Lachlan's family are devout followers of Lathander, so Lachlan took to the religion, too, going to the temple daily to strengthen her devotion to the god. Between school and her religion, Lachlan didn't have much time for socializing. She mainly kept to her books, spells, and prayers.

She lives by the dogma of Lathander: to plant the seed of hope and new beginnings, and to live each moment for the betterment of the whole. She awakens each day to watch the sunrise and greet Lathander with a prayer. Many have said she should have been a Cleric or Priestess of Lathander, rather than a master of the arcane. In response, she would always smile and shake her head, claiming, "If I were meant to serve Lathander in that way, He would not have given me the arcane touch." That seemed to placate those that would claim her divine right. She began adventuring in order to right wrongs and destroy the undead and demons everywhere. She wishes to fulfill the will of Lathander as He would deem it so.

Physical Description

To keep her hair slicked back, she uses bear grease carried in a small waterproof sack. She is careful to keep her hair short. Unlike Lathander, Lachlan has fiery hair that reflects her passion to do right in the world. Her eyes are a burnished gold, and her complexion is fair, save for many freckles. She is 36 years old, but appears to be around 20 or 21, a boon of her mixed heritage. She stands at 5'6" and weighs 125 pounds.

Talents, Skills, Quirks

Though a practitioner of arcane magic, she does know very limited healing magics, only able to heal very minor wounds. Anything beyond a shallow gash would require expert attention.

She first tries to use speech to calm her enemies, but if that fails, Lachlan will resort to the spells she knows.

Other Information

Lachlan has no siblings. Her mother was told she would likely die if she attempted to bear more children.

She abhors the undead and finds them, and demons, unfit to roam the earth, making it a point to destroy all she sees. Her staff was a gift from the priest of her home's temple, and she prefers blunt weapons to slashing and piercing. Her weapon of choice, aside from her jeweled staff which seconds as a holy symbol, is a light mace.
