The Road of the World was the world's most important trade route at the time of its naming and may still claim that status today. While not referring to any one particular oceanic current (as the world has many), the individual gyres between continents move in clockwise motion in the northern hemisphere while they rotate counterclockwise in the southern.  These routes are made available notably due to the boundaries between landmasses as well as the change in wind direction between latitudes (i.e. "Trade Winds" vs "Westerlies").

Even traders in Northern and Southern Veth often use the Road of the World to sail around the continent. The warm tropical waters of the Long Sea travel down through the Road of the World, spilling into the Southern Oceans.
Due to the counterclockwise movement of oceanic currents in the south, cold waters from the polar region around [[Alesian_Imperium|Alesia]] are driven up towards Veth. Particularly affected are the western nations along the southern peninsula.  This frigid current - in combination with upwelling - creates unusual climates along these boundaries that are not typical of subtropical environments.

The "road of the world" technically continues through the Berjeron Empire, the Bakbe veldt and the Kadut Mountains, before crossing another body of water to get to Xiunhai-La, Panguro and Taopai. The route is the main source of silk and fine 'Pangui weapons such as katanas.
